Yachting Planet: Start With the Time You Want Together
Short passages and afternoons ashore, or longer days under sail? We start with your crew’s priorities, then connect the boat, route and sailing support to the time you want together.

If your crew wants short passages and afternoons ashore, a route built around long sailing days would miss the point. If sailing itself is the main pleasure, a week organised around shore visits could feel equally misplaced. Before choosing a yacht, decide what you want your time on the water to make room for.
At Yachting Planet, we begin with those preferences: who is travelling, what interests you and how much sailing responsibility you want to take on. We help bring together a suitable boat, route and support, explain the choices clearly and give the details personal attention. The boat matters, but the people aboard give the journey its purpose.
A pace that works for your crew
Our vision is to make travelling by water a way for people to discover the world at their own pace, grow closer to the people beside them and feel connected to the places they visit.
Putting that vision into practice starts with a conversation about the days, not just the destination. If some of your companions want longer passages while others value time ashore, choosing more stops will not necessarily satisfy both. Each stop also means a passage to reach it. The useful question is what that combination adds to your journey.
Your preferred pace might mean covering less distance and allowing more time in each place. It might mean making sailing the focus, with your crew enjoying the planning and work of operating the yacht. Neither preference is the default against which the other needs to be measured.
Choose the boat, route and support together
Our mission is to help people turn a sailing idea into a journey that fits their crew, interests and experience. We bring together the right boat, route and support, explain the choices clearly and give the details personal attention—whether you take the helm yourselves, sail with a skipper or join a shared voyage.
For you, that means considering these decisions together rather than choosing a yacht first and working out everything else afterwards. A route needs to suit both your crew’s sailing experience and the way you hope to spend your time. The support needs to match the responsibilities you want to take on.

Which responsibilities do you want?
We offer private skippered sailing, scheduled departures, individual places on shared voyages and bareboat charter. These are different ways to organise your time, not a ladder of sailing achievement. Your choice can change from one trip to the next.
If you want to travel with your own group while a professional skipper handles the technical sailing responsibilities, private skippered sailing may fit. You might be new to yacht sailing, or you might be an experienced sailor who would rather spend this particular trip with family than manage the boat. Choosing support does not make the journey less yours.
If gathering a whole crew is the obstacle, an individual place on a shared voyage offers another starting point. Rather than organising a private charter group, you can focus on choosing a journey that suits you. The decision is less about how much sailing you have done and more about how you want to join the trip.
Bareboat: freedom to plan, responsibility to sail
Bareboat charter means hiring a yacht without a supplied professional skipper and crew; your own skipper and crew operate it. The name describes the arrangement, not an empty or unequipped boat.
If planning passages and sailing them yourselves is part of the pleasure, this may be the right starting point. For suitably experienced crews, bareboat offers more control over the itinerary, pace and stops. That flexibility comes with responsibility for operating the yacht; it does not mean unrestricted sailing.
Before booking, confirm that your sailing experience and qualifications meet the requirements for the selected yacht and destination. Requirements vary, so do not assume that a certificate accepted for one charter will be accepted for another.
We help you check the vessel, required qualifications and charter conditions. We also distinguish the rental price, additional charges and security deposit, so you can understand the costs and terms before committing. Exact inclusions and amounts need to be checked for the selected offer.
Give the boat a purpose
You do not need everyone in your crew to want exactly the same day. You do need to understand the differences before choosing a route and deciding who will operate the yacht. Those conversations turn a broad wish to go sailing into useful decisions about distance, time ashore and support.
Tell us who is travelling, where you would like to go, what sailing experience you bring and what you want the days to leave room for. We can explore the boat, route and support that fit. A yacht specification tells you about the boat; your priorities tell us what you want it to make possible.
