1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small data file that a website may store in your browser. Similar technologies include local browser storage, pixels and other ways to store or access information on a device. This policy uses “cookies” as a collective term where the same rules apply.

2. What the website currently uses

The public yachtingplanet.eu website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, traffic sources and interactions only after you select “Accept”. Before consent, the Google tag is not loaded and no analytics data is sent to Google. Language is passed in the page URL, so it does not require a cookie.

yp_analytics_consent (browser local storage)Preference. Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics so the website can respect your choice.Yachting Planet (first party)6 months

4. Is consent a one-time choice

There is no universal rule that consent is given once and lasts forever. Where optional cookies are used, a website may remember the choice for a reasonable period, but consent must be renewed when purposes or providers materially change, the earlier choice can no longer be reliably demonstrated, or the visitor withdraws it. Scrolling or continuing to browse never counts as consent.

5. External links and infrastructure

When you consent, Google Ireland Limited processes visit data through Google Analytics. Advertising storage, Google Signals and advertising-personalisation signals are disabled in this implementation. The website also links to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other external services; their own rules apply after you follow a link.

6. Managing cookies

You can inspect, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can change your analytics choice at any time through “Cookie settings” in the website footer. Withdrawing consent disables Google Analytics and removes the website-accessible _ga cookies. Your choice lasts for 6 months, after which we ask again.

7. Contact and changes

The data controller and website operator is Surf Life, UAB (trading as Yachting Planet), legal entity code 304120427, VAT number LT100009764215, registered office at Pievų Tako g. 17-2A, Klaipėda, Lithuania (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “Yachting Planet”).

Send cookie questions to info@yachtingplanet.eu. Before introducing a new category of non-essential cookies, we will update this inventory and request consent before activation where required.

Advertising measurement and your choices

Accept enables optional Google Analytics and Meta advertising cookies; Reject keeps both off. You can change or withdraw consent through Cookie settings in the footer. Previous analytics-only consent does not enable Meta: we ask again. Consent is not required to search or send an enquiry.

With advertising consent, Meta Pixel shares eligible public-page visits and successful enquiry/contact events with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited for advertising measurement and remarketing. Meta receives browser/device information, IP address, the page URL and its cookie identifiers, and may associate these with your Meta account. Our event payloads do not include enquiry names, email addresses, telephone numbers or message text. Automatic advanced matching and automatic event detection are disabled; server-side Conversions API is not used.

Meta may set first-party _fbp and _fbc cookies, normally lasting up to 90 days. The yp_marketing_consent local-storage entry remembers your advertising choice for 180 days. Withdrawing advertising consent revokes Pixel tracking, removes these website-accessible cookies and reloads the page if needed. Withdrawal does not automatically erase data already received by Meta. Google advertising storage and Google Signals remain disabled independently of Meta consent.

The legal basis for optional tracking is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Google and Meta may process data outside the EEA under their applicable transfer safeguards. Their privacy notices explain recipients, retention and how to exercise rights regarding data they hold; contact info@yachtingplanet.eu about our use of these tools.
