About this yacht
Excess 14 Catamaran – Sakura (Pulse Line Rig) is a 45ft modern sailing catamaran based in Papeete Marina, French Polynesia.
Perfectly suited for sailing the more remote regions of Polynesia, the Excess 14 is equipped for autonomy and adventure, with solar panels, a watermaker and a dinghy with a 20 HP outboard engine. A true sailing boat, it offers real pleasure under sail, making passages between the islands enjoyable and comfortable for everyone on board. Whether your plans involve exploring secluded atolls or enjoying relaxed island-hopping, this catamaran provides both reliability and freedom.
Sakura features 3 double cabins and 1 twin cabin and 3 bathroom, accommodating up to 8 guests. Crew quarters are located in the forepeaks, and please note that the crew will share one of the bathrooms. The cabins offer a high level of comfort with beds measuring 1.80 x 2.00 m, and the bathrooms are designed with separate shower and toilet areas. The cockpit features a large dining table that comfortably seats eight guests, and the saloon and cockpit both offer inviting relaxation areas. Bedding and towels are provided. The galley is fully equipped with household essentials, including refrigerator, oven, and cooker.
This model is equipped with the Pulse Line rig, providing improved sailing performance.
Optional paid extras include stand-up paddleboards, fishing equipment, Starlink communication, and one-way charters (starting in one island and ending in another). We can also provide a hostess and full board service if required.

Does an enquiry reserve this yacht?
No. An enquiry asks Yachting Planet to recheck the yacht, price and charter conditions. Nothing is reserved or charged until the charter operator confirms the next step with you.
What is included in the displayed price?
The provider has not supplied enough evidence for a complete payable total. We therefore show only the supported base amount and will confirm every mandatory charge before sending a proposal.
How do I know whether my skipper licence is accepted?
Licence rules depend on the yacht, flag, sailing area and sometimes VHF certification or crew experience. We verify your documents with the operator for this exact yacht before proposal.
Are the nearby weeks guaranteed to remain available?
No. They are shown only when the provider returned this yacht as available, and selecting one triggers a fresh price and availability check. Availability can still change before operator confirmation.
Licence and skipper requirements
The lead skipper normally needs an accepted sailing licence and, in some destinations, a VHF certificate or a second experienced crew member. Requirements vary by flag, operator and cruising area, so we verify them with the selected yacht.
