About this yacht

IONA is a beautifully appointed 39ft Bavaria Cruiser, offering comfortable accommodation for up to six guests in three well-designed double cabins. With a spacious layout, excellent sailing characteristics, and practical onboard amenities, she is perfectly suited for families and groups exploring the stunning Ionian Islands. Her generous beam creates an exceptionally light and spacious interior, providing plenty of room to relax after a day on the water. The thoughtfully designed saloon features a comfortable four-sided dining area centred around the island settee, while the intelligently arranged galley remains practical and secure whether under sail or at anchor. A full-size navigation station and a large shared aft bathroom further enhance the yacht's functionality. The two aft double cabins provide generous sleeping accommodation with ample standing room for easy dressing, while the spacious forward owner's cabin offers a large double berth, comfortable dressing seat, and the added convenience of a private ensuite bathroom. Above deck, IONA is exceptionally well equipped for comfortable cruising. Her extensive specification includes in-mast furling for effortless sail handling, a folding steering wheel to maximise cockpit space when at anchor, and a high-performance ROCNA anchor, renowned for its outstanding holding power in a wide range of anchorages. For the 2025 season, IONA has been fitted with a brand-new canvas package, including a new bimini and sprayhood, providing enhanced protection from the elements while giving the yacht a fresh, modern appearance. Combining Bavaria's renowned build quality with comfortable accommodation, dependable sailing performance, and easy handling, IONA is the ideal yacht for discovering the crystal-clear waters, secluded bays, and picturesque harbours of the Ionian. Whether you're enjoying relaxed days under sail or peaceful evenings at anchor, she offers everything needed for an enjoyable and memorable cruising holiday.

The yacht charter price includes-

  • First and last night pontoon fees on our Vliho Yacht Club pontoon.
  • Dinghy and outboard (including outboard fuel).
  • Full fuel and water tanks.
  • Bed linen and towels (beach towels not included).
  • Starter pack which includes tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper, water, cleaning products, bin bags, tea towels and toilet roll.
  • Masks and snorkles.
  • Final cleaning of the yacht.
  • Route planning.
  • Maps & pilot book (including Rod Heikle)
  • 24/7 support.

The only extras you pay for are-

  • Yacht diesel used during the charter. We arrange for the fuel to be delivered directly to the boat at our pontoon on your return. The diesel tank must be refilled and payment is made directly to the diesel truck driver.

Check in is 16.00 pm, we always try to have the boat ready earlier if you are arriving before 16.00 pm but we cannot guarantee this. Check out is 10.00 am, we ask that you arrive back at our pontoon before 5.00 pm the day before or between 8.30 am and 9.00 am on the day.

The skipper of the boat must hold a current qualification/certification from their country that allows them to charter a boat of the same type and size. The Port Police require the skipper to sign a declaration confirming the above. An ICC is required for skippers from the UK.

Please note: If you are booking a bareboat charter (without one of our skippers) we require a 2500 Euros refundable security deposit.

As part of check-in, we ask that you complete and sign a credit card security form. This would only be retained in the unlikely event of major damage to the boat. We do however understand that things can happen at sea, and you may lose a fender or a towel overboard etc, but these are just charged at cost price on your return.

We also offer additional services to ensure you have the best holiday!

  • WIFI Hub
  • Stand up paddle board
  • Provisioning
  • Additional bed linen and towels

Does an enquiry reserve this yacht?

No. An enquiry asks Yachting Planet to recheck the yacht, price and charter conditions. Nothing is reserved or charged until the charter operator confirms the next step with you.

What is included in the displayed price?

The provider has not supplied enough evidence for a complete payable total. We therefore show only the supported base amount and will confirm every mandatory charge before sending a proposal.

How do I know whether my skipper licence is accepted?

Licence rules depend on the yacht, flag, sailing area and sometimes VHF certification or crew experience. We verify your documents with the operator for this exact yacht before proposal.

Are the nearby weeks guaranteed to remain available?

No. They are shown only when the provider returned this yacht as available, and selecting one triggers a fresh price and availability check. Availability can still change before operator confirmation.

Licence and skipper requirements

The lead skipper normally needs an accepted sailing licence and, in some destinations, a VHF certificate or a second experienced crew member. Requirements vary by flag, operator and cruising area, so we verify them with the selected yacht.
