The Greek Ocean Star family
Models under our Ocean catalogue label are Ocean Star sailing yachts. They should not be confused with other similarly named motor-boat manufacturers. Ocean Yachts presents the 51.2 as a sailing yacht, while an archived Yachting World review associates it with the Greek shipyard. Check the chosen boat's year, sail system and cabin plan. The 51.2 Exclusive was tested with different rigging and layout, so its characteristics do not automatically describe the equipment of every standard 51.2.
What the reviewers found
In a 2005 Yachting World test, the Ocean Star 51.2 Exclusive was praised for a spacious wooden interior and light helm. However, mainsail-control lines were too far from the helm, and too much sail complicated handling. This archived test concerns the Exclusive version, not every Ocean Star boat.

Before you charter
What is bareboat charter?
You charter the boat and provide your own suitably qualified skipper and crew. Qualification requirements vary by boat, operator and sailing area. We help check your documents and the charter terms for your chosen boat.
What will your charter cost?
The search price is the boat's charter price. The boat page lists known mandatory charges, optional extras and a separate security deposit. Review the complete offer for your dates; any costs still awaiting confirmation must be checked before booking.
How does a charter request work?
- Choose your dates, departure base and boat.
- Review the charter price, charges, deposit and qualification requirements.
- Send your request. Yachting Planet checks availability and terms before confirming the charter.
