Here, the model name matters more than the label

This catalogue label alone is not sufficient to treat every boat as the same design or the product of one shipyard. It includes the Leopard 40 PC alongside Leopard 23 and 24M motor-boat entries. Officially, the 40 PC power catamaran is built by Robertson & Caine and designed by Simonis Voogd. We apply those details only to that model. Check the individual model, boat type and operator information; a catamaran review does not apply to a similarly named monohull yacht.

What the reviewers found

Mark Pillsbury tested the Leopard 40 PC with twin 370hp engines for Cruising World. In fairly calm conditions, he noted responsive steering and easy manoeuvring, but the test does not establish behaviour in heavy seas. The review applies only to the Robertson & Caine catamaran, not the Leopard 23 or 24M.

Before you charter

What is bareboat charter?

You charter the boat and provide your own suitably qualified skipper and crew. Qualification requirements vary by boat, operator and sailing area. We help check your documents and the charter terms for your chosen boat.

What will your charter cost?

The search price is the boat's charter price. The boat page lists known mandatory charges, optional extras and a separate security deposit. Review the complete offer for your dates; any costs still awaiting confirmation must be checked before booking.

How does a charter request work?

  1. Choose your dates, departure base and boat.
  2. Review the charter price, charges, deposit and qualification requirements.
  3. Send your request. Yachting Planet checks availability and terms before confirming the charter.
