Two hulls, different ways of living aboard
Lagoon builds sailing and power catamarans, so the brand alone does not define the kind of trip. Lagoon 42, 46 and 40 models are well represented in the catalogue. The 42 combines VPLP naval architecture with an exterior by Patrick Le Quément and a Nauta interior; the saloon and cockpit share one level. When choosing a charter, compare owner and charter versions rather than length alone: an entire hull devoted to one cabin is a different arrangement from four cabins for the crew.
What the reviewers found
SAIL writer Zuzana Prochazka praised circulation between spaces and helm ergonomics when testing the Lagoon 42. She also noted slippery access to the coachroof and saloon ventilation. This was a 2016 test of a specific owner's version, not an assessment of every Lagoon.
