Grand Soleil

Sailing focus and living space

Grand Soleil is Cantiere del Pardo's Italian sailing-yacht brand. The 43 described by Cruising World was designed by Botin Carkeek, combining a race-oriented design with living spaces. Other Grand Soleil sizes also appear in the catalogue, so check the model number alongside build year and layout. Actual sails, draft and cockpit working arrangements matter for your trip; an older-generation test should not automatically describe a newer model of the same length.

What the reviewers found

In Cruising World's 2009 Grand Soleil 43 test, Herb McCormick appreciated the light helm and interior layout but identified compromises in deck grip and opening ports. Testing took place in light winds under 8 knots with borrowed, smaller sails. The conclusions concern that model generation and test configuration.

Before you charter

What is bareboat charter?

You charter the boat and provide your own suitably qualified skipper and crew. Qualification requirements vary by boat, operator and sailing area. We help check your documents and the charter terms for your chosen boat.

What will your charter cost?

The search price is the boat's charter price. The boat page lists known mandatory charges, optional extras and a separate security deposit. Review the complete offer for your dates; any costs still awaiting confirmation must be checked before booking.

How does a charter request work?

  1. Choose your dates, departure base and boat.
  2. Review the charter price, charges, deposit and qualification requirements.
  3. Send your request. Yachting Planet checks availability and terms before confirming the charter.
