Layout distinguishes models in the Impression family
Slovenian builder Elan presents the Impression 45.1 as a family cruising sailing yacht. Options include three or four cabins, twin wheels and different stern arrangements. The catalogue also contains the Impression 45 and 40, so a similar name should not replace checking the specific model. The 45.1 sea trial used a four-cabin charter version with furling sails. Examine galley position, the passage between the helms and cabin beds; optional equipment on the test boat may not be fitted to another example.
What the reviewers found
Yacht Digest writer Luca D'Ambrosio tested the Impression 45.1 off Portorož. He liked its responsive helm, while speed fell on broader downwind courses; no asymmetric sail was carried. The test involved calm seas, 8–12 knots of wind and a four-cabin version, so its conclusions are not extended to the whole Elan family.
