Dufour's official description presents the 430 as a cruising sailing yacht designed by Felci Yacht Design. It sits alongside the Dufour 41 and 460 Grand Large in the catalogue, so comparisons should be made at model level rather than by brand alone. The tested 430 had a deeper keel and the Grand Prix sail package; the standard specification was simpler. Equipment shown in magazine photographs is not a promise for every charter boat. Check galley position, cabin layout and sheet routing: they directly affect crew work and life aboard.
What the reviewers found
YACHT writer Michael Good highlighted good steering feedback and light-air sailing in his Dufour 430 test. He also noted numerous lines aft and a lack of dedicated rope storage. The Grand Prix sail version was tested; its results do not guarantee those of a standard or any charter configuration.
