De Antonio

Concealed engines and an open deck

De Antonio designs can conceal outboards beneath the stern sunbathing area, giving the boat a different appearance from a conventional motor boat. The D42 Open description combines this with walkaround decks and sleeping spaces below. Compare our D28 Cruiser, D32, D36 and D42 entries separately: a longer deck does not mean the same cabin plan, and the test boat's engine configuration may differ from your chosen hire boat.

What the reviewers found

BoatTEST's D42 Open test with three 400hp Mercury V10 engines describes responsive steering, a spacious deck and an awkward initial descent into the technical space. Testing took place on calm water. Its figures and conclusions concern that configuration; they are not a speed or consumption guarantee for every charter D42.

Before you charter

What is bareboat charter?

You charter the boat and provide your own suitably qualified skipper and crew. Qualification requirements vary by boat, operator and sailing area. We help check your documents and the charter terms for your chosen boat.

What will your charter cost?

The search price is the boat's charter price. The boat page lists known mandatory charges, optional extras and a separate security deposit. Review the complete offer for your dates; any costs still awaiting confirmation must be checked before booking.

How does a charter request work?

  1. Choose your dates, departure base and boat.
  2. Review the charter price, charges, deposit and qualification requirements.
  3. Send your request. Yachting Planet checks availability and terms before confirming the charter.
