Cruiser and C-Line should not be treated as a single model
Different generations meet in the Bavaria catalogue: the C42 appears alongside the Cruiser 46 and Cruiser 41. Bavaria's C42 documentation specifies two or three cabins and a self-tacking jib. Its broad hull and pronounced chines provide space, but selection should begin with the actual version. In the C42 test, two wheels controlled one rudder; this design must not be attributed to every Bavaria. Cabin layout, draft and sheet routing help you choose more precisely for your crew.

Yachting World writer Toby Hodges praised the C42's responsive steering and handling in reverse. On the test boat, mainsheet controls were near the companionway, requiring coordination with the crew. This assessment concerns the particular C42 equipment, not the entire Cruiser range.
